Affordable Technology To Take Your Videos From Basic To Brilliant 📸
Read Time: 4 Minutes
You’re scrolling through social, looking at the videos on your feed, and asking yourself “Why don’t my videos look anywhere near that good?”.
The truth is that it comes down to the fact that they’re probably spending more money on better quality equipment to set themselves apart online; which is a smart move considering that there are tens of thousands of videos posted online every day, as it’s becoming increasingly harder to stand out.
The barrier to entry is becoming more affordable for you to invest in a do-it-yourself method of video creation, and I’ve always been an advocate for it when budgets are tight, and you’ve got to get in the trenches.
Speaking of which, where would you say you were in your video journey currently? Click the option that suits you best:
Regardless of where you are, here are a few purchases that could take our videos from basic to brilliant ⚡️

This week isn’t a geek-out newsletter where you’re going to bombard you with technology that you don’t understand, looks complicated to use, and you’re going to have to remortgage your house to afford it.
Instead, it’s a list of up-and-coming products that you can cost-effectively buy if you’re in the market to make in-house videos with your own team and affordable equipment.
Here’s a few that I’d strongly recommend:
1) Just released: DJI Osmo Pocket 3
You can find the link to this incredible bit of technology here.
For under £500, you can get a 4K camera with a built-in gimble, and the ability to instantly switch between landscape and portrait filming. Even I’m blown away, and I’ve been in this industry for over a decade!

2) Just released: DJI Microphone Kit
You can find the link to this time-saving microphone kit here.
These are some of the most high-quality, well-built, yet affordable microphones I’ve ever purchased. So much so, that I’ve recently bought two sets to use on professional-level shoots, and these have only empowered my production level.
You can plug these into either your professional camera or your mobile phone with in-built adapters that connect seamlessly.

3) Fairly new: Nanlite Pavotube V2
You can find the link to these mind-blowing lights, here.
I bought six of these lights a couple of months ago, and they’ve changed the way I create videos for my professional clients. Taking their videos, and my own, to a completely new production level.
They come in all shapes and sizes and connect to your phone seamlessly to cast any colour you’d like. White, warm, cool, or even neon green, multi-colours, the lot. A super cost-effective way to jazz up a podcast setup, talking head videos, or just to add that extra level of professionalism.

Making great videos isn’t always about the technology that you use, but it sure helps to make you stand out with better quality, production level, and a unique video style that viewers will remember.
Personally, I’ve ordered and used all of the above items and can confidently say I’ve never looked back.
They’ve helped me up the quality of my videos personally, confidently approach professional productions with the latest innovations in the video industry, and saved me hours of time in the process.
TLDR 💁🏼♀️
Equipment does matter when making videos online, as it empowers you to stand out amongst tough competition.
The barrier to entry in the video marketing industry is becoming more cost-effective, allowing smaller businesses to get involved.
Brands like DJI and Nanlight have incredibly cost-effective products that don’t sacrifice quality.
If you’re looking to up your video quality, technology is where you should be investing your money.
