Whilst most of you will want to build a loyal community and increase your digital presence, there’s a crucial step in the process that is hindering your success.

Selling is the go-to format, especially when it comes to video. Yet still to this day, nobody (and I mean nobody) wants to be sold to.

You’ll want to market your company, you’ll think about what products and services you offer, and you’ll immediately go down the path of telling everybody about how fantastic you are, how you’re unique, and why you’re the best in the market.

I get it. It's tempting to use videos solely as a format to push what you sell. But from my experience, selling is a one-way ticket to unengaging your audience and slow growth, if any.

Adopting a non-sales approach can generate some incredible results, and all it takes is a shift in perspective. Here are my favourite 7 ways to start:

Instead of focusing solely on the sale, leverage your videos to tell compelling stories that resonate with your viewers. Rather than bombarding viewers with sales pitches, prioritise connecting with them on a personal level. Share valuable information, educational content, and entertaining videos that genuinely benefit your target audience. By establishing yourself as a trusted resource, you lay the foundation for long-term relationships with potential customers.

Viral content can be a game-changer for your business, so stop selling, and focus on creating shareable content that resonates with your viewers and encourages them to spread the word.
